Shibden Park Restoration Project is now Completed
Derrick Kershaw Partnership were appointed as Quantity Surveyors on the project which included extensive cost control and reporting, as well as providing the works on a two stage tender process.
The main objectives for this project were restoring Shibden Park and providing a new flagship Centre. This included:-
- Restoring the park to its former glory utilising historic research
- Submission of a stage 2 Heritage Lottery Application
- Environmentally proven construction techniques
- Utilising locally sourced skills and resources
The works included:
- Renovating the Terraces and Gardening Tunnel
- Restructuring landscape features
- Rebuilding Wilderness Garden and Cascade
- Restoring Tunnel under Shibden Hall Road
- Restoring bridges
- Consolidation of Lodge and Gate
- Improving footpaths and providing new footpaths
- Historic planting
- Refurbishment of Rangers Barn including re-roofing
- Replacing Boat House
- Site boundary dry stone wall repairs
