The Regional Agricultural Centre - the greenest building in the area

The sedum roof on the Regional Agricultural Centre is now in place and the construction nears completion. The natural roof adds to the buildings many green features:

  • Green sedum roof
  • Sheep's wool insulation
  • Ground heat recovery system
  • Timber frame
  • Solar thermal panels
  • Rainwater harvesting

Dry stone walling will together with the sedum roof make the building blend into the surroundings. The centre will in addition to offices include a Cafe and food shop with regional produce. The building is set to finish in May 2009.
